So what if it's cold outside...

This afternoon I am braving the cold to grill some Thai steak kabobs. They are so good and you know, there's just something about food prepared over coals. I've had this picture since I made these last and if you'd like to make them here's the recipe. We'll have these with zucchini and I'll fix a batch of pot stickers to round out the meal.

Thai steak skewers

1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp lime juice
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp curry powder
1 tsp lemon juice
1 can coconut milk
1 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

Mix all the above together and save out 1/2 to make sauce.

Put the marinade into a 1 gallon ziplock bag with 2 lbs of sirloin steak cut into 1/2 inch cubes and refrigerate for 2-4 hours. I stand the bag in a bowl so it doesn't make a mess in the refrigerator. Then get your grill ready, skewer the steak chunks with onion or whatever vegetables you like, and grill for 6-8 minutes turning occasionally.

In a small sauce pan heat the other half of the coconut milk mixture with 1/4 cup peanut butter for the sauce. That's it and it's so good!

We hope that you all had a great Christmas and will be blessed in 2011. We're grillin' even though it's chilly here in the holler...

Oh yummers - those look so good. The Momster is really missing not using our grill, but she says it is tough to cook when it is as cold as it is here. But we will file this recipe for the spring:)

That recipe sounds really delilcious, and I know mum will be cooking it sometime soon on the barbeque. It is summer here, and she enjoys cooking things outside.

It's much too chilly here for me to consider using the BBQ grill!

I can just smell those babies right now. We live in western NYS and use our gas grill all winter long. We? My hustand does the grilling but doesn't mind braving the cold. It's worth it for the taste. Thanks for the recipe!
