All is well here in the holler...

I'm hearing of so many throughout our area and other southern states that have lost so much. We are so blessed to have no damage at all. The storms were all around us and we did without power for a little while but that is all, and we are thankful. Our prayers are with all the families hurt by these storms.

I walked outside to see what's growing and everything is getting started.
The Flowers are flowering...
The Strawberries are berrying...
The peach trees are peachy...
The tomato plants are getting ready to be put in the garden..

My Morning Blessing...

This morning I was standing at the sink with my last cup of coffee looking out at the bird feeder (you didn't think I was doing dishes yet did you?) and what did I see? A male cardinal, male gold finch, and male indigo bunting! It was like God's primary color set - it was such a treat to see. Of course I didn't get their picture, but I tried. These are the birds that graced the lens.

The finches and friends...

Mr. Bluebird checking in on the wife and kids..

These Blue-jays were on the other side of the yard...

Mr. Cardinal thought I couldn't see him behind that branch. Come closer sir!

And today's mystery bird. Is this a lady indigo bunting? I don't know. Maybe I'll google it unless you know. It's a beautiful color nonetheless.

We've had some really loud storms recently and this is what happens in our house. As I try to move around and do my thing, it's like I'm the center and I and the dogs move as one. Just trying to walk through the kitchen I have the three big ones waiting to move with me.

As I sit at the computer this is what I see. Speedbump is underneath the chair. No, she doesn't fit there? Really guys? We've been through storms before.

Well, April showers certainly do bring May flowers but they also bring clingy dogs too. God bless your Easter. Blessings to you all from the holler...

Continued Blessings...

Have you ever tried to imagine how much God loves us? I have been schooled on that very subject recently in the study of Isaiah chapter 53. This book was written several hundred years before Christ died and it describes so many things that happened and the reasons behind God's actions! He loves us!
When you take into account all the detail in the writings in the book of Isaiah about His suffering, death and burial, it is just amazing in light of how long before the events, these details were recorded by the prophet. In my opinion, it takes more faith NOT to believe in Jesus Christ than to believe. I read a book last year or the year before of a man named Josh McDowell who set out to disprove the Bible and ended up proving and believing in Jesus. If you are curious or uncertain, let me recommend his book Evidence that Demands a Verdict .

Isaiah 53 says...
3 He was despised and rejected by mankind, (nobody stepped up to defend Him)
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
4 Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, (spear, nails)
he was crushed for our iniquities; (the weight of the cross He bore, His own weight as he hung)
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed. (lashing, crown of thorns, nails, spear)
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

That said, here's a couple of pictures I took today...

A new batch, bumpy toes, and new tricks...

This post is going to be sporadic so just hang in there. Okay?
This weekend we bottled a new batch of wine, it's blackberry.

On Friday I noticed that Speedbump's feet had as much hair as a Clydesdale horse so we got the scissors and clippers and got down to business.

Violet and Corrie have learned to "down" just in the last week. I'm so proud of them because they're both wild and crazy girls. I didn't get a picture of Corrie, but, trust me she can do it. So, here's Violet in her "down." Notice that she's ready to bolt. Maybe we should've introduced "stay" first :O)
I took this picture tonight. This is what Violet does, she likes to go around and visit (pester) with either Charlie or Scrappy. It was Charlie's turn for a visit.

Blessings to you all from the holler...
