Birds of a Feather...

Well, I stood really still and waited until the birds came back to the feeder yesterday afternoon and this morning. They fly away from me, the one who feeds them, but ignore all the dog commotion that goes on in the yard beside them. Here they are. Oh, and the front flower bed is in full swing. I know you all are probably sick of seeing it so just scroll past.

I think I know the names of these birds. If I'm wrong, please let me know what they are.
Black Capped Chickadee

American Gold Finch

Indigo Bunting, Cardinal and Gold Finch

It's hard to have a favorite bird when they are all so beautiful but I am partial to the Indigo Bunting. That is my favorite color. Can you believe it? Not one picture of a dog!!! How did that happen? Well, I'm off to plant a zucchini and cucumber plant in the garden. I'm just putting one of each so we'll have it to eat over the summer. Maybe, one summer, I'll go all out like Lena at Sleeping Dog Bakery - see her post on the side bar for a real garden tour. Blessings to you all from the holler.

I'm partial to the Cardinal myself. They always catch my eye (the males at least, lol) when they dart from one tree to another. Do you have any bluebirds?
Love the peonies!
I would advice friends to not go full swing like me in the garden. The garden bites back sometimes, and then I need Mrs. JP to come look for me to make sure I wasn't eaten by my garden. I'm blessed with good blog friends like her. Have a wonderful weekend!

The birds are so beautiful Mrs JP.. so are the flowers. I wish I could grow flowers like those here. Thanks for sharing the pics!

What clear shots you have of these most colorful sweet birds. It is always interesting to watch the interactions, learn the calls, and patterns. Mom's mom and dad are just now returning from a birding/camping trip to Southern Arizona...avid birders...can't wait to see what they added to their life-list!!! :)

Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,

I have never seen an Indigo Bunting before but I like that color.

I don't get sick of the flowers! I love peonies and it looks like painted daisies, too.
We, too, feed birds. However, I have never heard of Indigo Bunting. Maybe they cannot thrive up north. I will have to check it out on the Internet. Happy gardening!

WOW, those are great pictures! We have the same birds except for the pretty blue one. I have never seen that before. We have had blue birds but I have never seen them at the feeder.

Wow- an indigo bunting? I'm so jealous... I've only seen one the whole time we've lived here. Love all the birdies you have- I just recently started seeing the goldfinches around here. And- saw my first hummingbird a couple of days ago- up went the feeders!
