To The Top...

In this wonderful place we live, God has blessed us with 3 acres of cleared land and 2 acres of nothing but steep hill and trees. My brother urged me to make a trail to the top and so I work on it when I can. Mostly, the deer have done it for me. It's not a straight up cliff but it's steep enough that we have to zig zag to the top and use a walking stick. Today, I went for a walk to the top. I always carry my phone because no one could find me if I fall (I'm pretty clumsy.)
Of course, I walk by the dog yard as I leave and they're all wondering "why can't I go?" Well, maybe not Corrie, she doesn't want to leave her yard :O)

This is the view from the top of our yard.

The beginning of the trail.
Up a little further.

At the top looking towards our house. You can barely make it out. Actually, maybe not.

This wonderful view is the reward for the hike up the hill.

When I come back down the hill the dogs act like I've been gone forever. The stick game goes ever on
and the Spaceghost says he's hungry.
Happy Valentines Day and Blessings from the holler to you and yours.

Nice little place you and JP got there.
I know the dogs would love to go with you and they always give you the sad look. Just like my girls will stand at the window looking at me as I leave for work. Make me feel guilty sometimes for leaving them.
Have a great weekend!

How nice to have a hiking spot on your own property! You should bring a dog with you on your hike - that way they can (well, in theory at least), run back to the house if you happen upon some of that clumsiness. :-)

How nice to have a place to hike. I LOVE hiking through the woods and seeing where they end up. You have some pretty views at the top of your hill. I think you should take a dog with you, too, like Lena said. Or let them take turns!

In answer to your question about my little old shed at the farm, that shed was already on our place. It was falling sideways leaning over, and my husband and a friend reinforced it with heavy beams, put in a new floor, and jacked it up and put more supports underneath it. I love it! We almost took it down, but I'm so glad we didn't. I do all my gardening in there and keeep my tools, etc. Thanks for your interest!
