Then, the rain started and I just sat down in my rocker (good old fashioned wood rocker) and enjoyed the view until I was chased inside by blowing drops. God has blessed us with such beauty. I look around and remember why the mountain range near us is called the Smokey Mountains. The fog raises between the hills and looks like smoke--so beautiful.
This shower is such a nice break from the hot summer days. Fall is just around the corner; I'm really looking forward to it. Blessings to you all from the holler... FYIDefinition of holler -

Hollow pronounced by locals (holler) - a valley: They took the sheep to graze in the hollow. Where we live there are steep hills. You either live on top of the hill or in the holler!

Mom would love a porch and a rocking chair - sitting out during a rain shower is very peaceful and relaxing.

It really is a beautiful post and you live in a magnificent part of the world. You make me really envious, because here I'm surrounded by a concrete jungle!...but there are wonderful things here too and I too am blessed.
Do you know that I once rescued a butterfly just like that from the beach...yes...actually took it back a little way inland for it to recover and fly off..

Just beautiful! It's rainy here too but not as pretty.
About the jalapenos, I got my pickled jalapenos recipe from thatsmyhome.com, except I do not do the hot water bath because the peppers just turned soft and mushy. I just pour in the hot boiling liquid and the lids will seal. I sliced some of them and other times I just slice them in half(the long way).
It looks so refreshed there. Butterflies are a joy to watch, too!
*giggle* Wow- I can't believe how well you defined holler.... that was great! I never thought about anyone NOT knowing what a holler was!!!
