Who knows how to beat the heat? Scrappy, that's who. She is so spoiled it's funny. She has developed a new talent. She looks out the back door, growls really low, then barks and gets everyone all stirred up to go out and bark at whatever....THEN, I open the door, they all go out except Scrappy!! She walks away like, psych, I just wanted you all out of the house so I can go back to my chair.
Now, about the wordless part. I heard my voice on our answering machine several times yesterday. I sound like a hick!! I mean I'm as country as you can get and proud of it. We're talking raised listening to country & gospel music, watching Hee-Haw (JP thinks it's funny that I know the songs on that show), I learned to drive out in my Dad's hay field; you get the picture. I think maybe we should go back to the pre-installed computer guy's voice.
Ya'll have a great rest of the week now, ya hear! Blessings from the holler.....

We have a faker in the house too - and I fall for it every time!
Now do any of us really like the sound of our own voice? I think not...
Yay Scrappy - you are one smart dog! Too funny! :-) And the rest of the pack falls for it every time?!
I'm sure your voice sounds as lovely as you are! :-)
Maybe you should record a new message with you doing like an English accent or something. And let me know if you do this because I will call just to hear it! :)
Your Southern accent is just one of the many things I love about you, dear, and also the fact that you know the words to every country and western song recorded prior to around 1980. ;o)
Oh how I'd like to hear your voice! I guess you didn't have the courage to post a video :)
Sending lotsaluv to you and enjoy your bottling of all those veges and fruit you are growing. My mouth is watering just thinking of it.
As for Scrappy...he sounds just like King-Toffee.

July 21 and my first day back to checking out blogs---I have missed them. Scrappy is one smart cookie. And I love a southern accent. I love real "hillbilly" music like Ricky Skaggs---gotta love that twang. I lived on a dairy farm until age 12 and got "citified" after marrying. Now I'm back in the country and loving it!
that Scrappy! Now he's a smarty!
I know you feel about hearing your voice. I grew up here in east Texas and I HATE hearing myself talk. And I usually write like a talk, slang and drawl and all that hick hillbilly twang. My kids correct me some times and I tell 'em to be proud of their upbringing AND their accent!
Smart doggie Scrappy! Let's see how long before the rest of the pack catch on to her.
I'm sure you have a lovely voice Mrs. JP.
Scrappy! Sneaky bugger you are, to get the bestest coolest spot, right!! :)
Have a nice eve ya'll! :) We probably analyze our voices more than those listening. Mom always thinks she sound dull...boring...has to remind herself to pep it up!!!
Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,
Sierra Rose
