I'm so excited for spring to be here I just about can't stand it!! I've put out my bunny in a cabbage bowl that my Aunt gave me. She made this little bowl when I was six and I remember her serving coleslaw in it at family gatherings. One day, a few years ago, I was at her house and started going on and on about it and she plucked it off of her shelf and said "here, you take this home." I just about fell over because in my mind it is an heirloom but I love it and I love her. She is the one who gave me the quilting bug. Now, on to my latest Chubby Chicks table topper. I finished it today and took it to my mom. These little cuties are so easy to do and I got the template thanks to Lea at Farmhouse Blessings. Thanks again, Lea.
Blessings to you all from the holler.

I love your cabboge bowl. It is extra special being from your Aunt! I love things like that.
I also like quilted place table topper. It is beautiful.
The sun was shining today again! We are so happy that Spring is almost here!
Hi There, Thanks so much for visiting my blog. I hope you return soon. I do love my backyard birds --and share pictures often. Hubby and I are retired and live near Crossville, TN on the Cumberland Plateau. Where is home for you?
Sounds like you all enjoyed a gorgeous weekend also. We loved it. After this long winter, it just felt good to be outside!!!!
You asked about my bird house. The top comes off ---and that helps with the cleaning. It also helps because the Bluebirds allow us to open the lid and peek inside when there are eggs or small babies in there. If you have time, go back and look at some of my old Bluebird posts. Click on the BLUEBIRD label on my sidebar. Last spring/summer--I was giving almost daily reports about our Bluebirds. It is just amazing.
If you have any other questions, be sure and ask. Thanks again for visiting my blog.
Hugs,
Betsy
I love gifts like your cabbage bowl, because they have such wonderful memories that go along with them, they really are treasures! The bowl and the table topper are great to enjoy at the start of spring!

What a treasure! It is cute!
Hi, Mrs Jp -
I just had to come by and tell you how much I loved your comment and your statement that "the heart remembers what the mind forgets". That is so touching and so true. I wish I'd heard that before when my grandmother went thru Alz. and my mom suffered so watching nanny decline. I'll keep this quote from you handy cuz I know I'll need it when times get hard for my husband. Thank you so much!!!
Your little chubby chicks are so cute! That's a great EAster decoration. And I know you feel so special that you got the cabbage bowl! What a neat keepsake!
Love the cabbage chicks! And, that warm sun sounded fantastic for being out on the property.
Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,
Sierra Rose
What a nice treasure! Isn't it nice to get gifts like that instead of something new and shiny! :-)
Hope you too are enjoying the warmer weather.
The cabbage bowl is just darling! I love it. Nice job on the quilting, too. We, too, had a huge, dead tree come down during a winter storm. It's at the cabin that we will soon be calling our home. It's lying there waiting for us. The menfolk in the family just love usint their chain saws, so it will get taken care of:)
